OMG I love you and Patty.
Be stern and tell him to cut the crap and not to ever pull that shit again. Just be honest with him. Let him know you thought he was being selfish and unfair. I want to tell you something as an example, but I don't want to write it in a blog. (Perhaps too personal for such a public forum).
If he knows how serious you are, and if he feels he misses you so much, he will consider to cut the crap and never to act so childish, seriously.
Thing is, I'm not sure I want to be in a relationship with him again... Hence, I need to think...

Yes, actaully, that is always the best option, think things through thoroughly.
Now, I usually don't like to give advice in these matters because you may end up together again, and I would risk alienating you.
Not to be all earth mother, but I think that you're on the cusp of a big change - and part of that change is breaking with old patterns.
